Yes, this movie is remarkable. And it shows how the game requirement of "meeting specific plot points" can unfold psychologically into both indoctrination and desensitization, and, in doing so, work to quietly steal some element of the players' humanity, twisting people into something more dark-hearted, a being comfortable with both body horror and casual assassination. (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER But the single element of this film is its structure, which never spells out its most essential factor which is that when the movie begins, the viewer is already at least one layer deep into an Artificial Reality, insuring the ambiguity of the character's final question as they try to climb back up to "Reality": Are they still in the game?)
