See me or the other person that I pretend to be, well here, I've had countless male bosses and three female ones working for a Fortune 500 company and then a top university. I never had an issue with any of the male bosses, got promotions, raises, and was happy with my career, until I got a female boss. The first one I encountered was reassigned after 6 months due to incompetence, so I didn't have a problem with her, the second one decided to ruin my career because in her own words "I was too friendly with upper management and she felt her job was threatened" (I knew them socially and we hung out) so she gave me negative assessments, appointed me to impossible tasks, refused my solutions, stole my work and claimed it for herself, forced me to work 100 hour weeks and over the weekends doing nonsense busy work, had friends in the HR department and told me not to bother complaining to them because it wouldn't go anywhere, and when I finally handed in my resignation after 18 months of abuse, smiled and said "well, it's about time." I left to work in a foreign university, where again, I was happy, getting promoted, earning a lot of money, and then got a new boss. I handled the academic side and she was responsible for admissions, payment, and all the office work, but on paper, I reported to her. She took offence to the fact that I was essentially earning two wages, one as a lecturer and the other as head of the department, and when my contract was up for renewal, told me she wouldn't renew it unless I gave her half my sandwich. I stupidly complained to her boss, oblivious to the fact they were sleeping together despite him being married, and then she presented a new contract where I had been removed yet still had all the same responsibilities as before, but I would only receive half my previous wages, and she was the new Donald Trump, but I was expected to do all the work. As I needed a contract to remain in the country, I had to quit and leave the country. So twice, my career was ruined by two of the only three women I've worked for. I now refuse to work for a female boss, and will quit or ask for reassignment before I do.

I'm fairly certain it's about the struggles of making no love deep web while in chateau marmont (i.e a big house, in L.A), and how with the stress they put themselves through to make the album in time, along with epic records' policies, it made the experience like prison. Plot twist: this big house contains three bedrooms and is located in a good neighborhood. Excoriating as Burnett and Hill are, the real abrasive is Flatlander--the shrieking trills that attack from above toward the end of "The Fever (Aye Aye)," the armored vehicle gone haywire that is "System Blower."
