Yes, I know; that's why I knew this was the true narrative. I just meant that it's never explicitly spelled out, nor is the "initial level of immersion" ever gauged: Are they one level in? Two? Five? Only the game player knows. But like the logical recursions illustrated in the book "Gödel, Escher, Bach," sometimes these "nesting" realities (like the mindgames of a Lewis Carroll story) are such convoluted fugues, one might "forget" or mistake a false starting point for the true one.
